How can you keep yourself happy? Or Should I Say How I Keep Myself Happy?
I know it's hard to be happy in the present world, but there are many things that can be done to be happy. We should focus on the basics,

How should I start this one? As you get older, everything seems like a lie. Your friends seem to avoid you, your family has expectations you need to fulfill, and you have your own dreams to accomplish.
All these things seem easy to do, but the present world doesn't allow you to achieve them so easily because of competition and the race for success. Today, success seems like a false hope that is not understandable because people are selling their souls to get successful.
Yes, it's true. People are neglecting their morals and other important aspects of life to become successful. Today, the only thing that seems to matter is how much money you have in your pocket or bank account, as status is valued more than anything else. This intense focus on success leads people to be deprived of other things because they are so driven to achieve success by any means necessary.
My definition of success was different, as I prioritize love, kindness, respect, affection, and morals above everything else. These are basic necessities for a human being to live on this planet. They are like mental resources that fulfill a person's psychological needs, much like water, food, shelter, and money fulfill physical needs. Love, kindness, and respect are just as important as other essential resources.
So I always prioritize these values and aim to provide them to others, instead of focusing too much on money and material things.
How I Stay Happy (Most of the Time)
Happiness is something you're born with. There are hardly any kids on the planet who haven't experienced it (apart from those born with an illness, affected by mishaps, or born in a war zone).
Everyone experiences happiness at least once in their lifetime because it's part of our basic nature to be happy. It's an inbuilt part of being human.
How can one confirm that?
Simply remove all your worries and problems, and you'll see that you're automatically happy. You don't need anything else to be happy once you eliminate everything that is creating sadness in your mind or clouding your thoughts.
Yes, it is that simple. The only thing that isn't simple is removing all the thoughts that make you sad. Even though you want to clear and improve your thoughts, achieving this so-called goal is a difficult process.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, yes, it's not easy to remove thoughts because accepting the situation is necessary to remove thoughts. Most people want to control the situation, even though they know that situations can't be controlled. Sometimes things happen for many reasons, which is why we say you need to accept what is not in your control. Lol.
So, if you wish to move towards your happiness, make sure to accept some situations and find peace of mind. This way, you can have a good night's sleep.
Indeed, sleep is an essential element of being happy in life. Lol.
What Brings Me Happiness Most of the Time?
If I say family and friends make me happy, that would be a lie because these people support you and make you happy in most situations. But for many, family and friends create problems. I had the same experience in the past; most of my problems were created by my family and friends in my life.
These situations can't be explained because everyone is correct in their own head. Everyone has to see themselves, and they see the situations from their perspectives only. And I do the same; I see things from my perspective.
Because of the difference in perspectives, we have become problems for each other. So it's better to move to the understandable side and ensure that no one is going to understand what's inside your head and how much truth you're speaking through your words because no one is capable of knowing that.
I have experienced this a lot. Even though I speak the truth most of the time, people tell me it's a lie. Sometimes, even when I keep a bland truth, it sounds like a lie to them. It happens to all of us, so it's better to realize this as early as possible.
The world you see and the situations that happen to you are not the same as those experienced by others, because they are different, just as you are different. If you keep resisting the same thing, and they are also resistant, eventually, these differences create divisions. Later, these divisions create partitions in relationships and in the minds of people, including family and friends.
One way is to keep your heads up, listen to each other, engage in conversation, and focus on identifying the problems and finding solutions together.
This works well if both people have the capability to listen and hear each other out. In my personal experience, there is no problem in the world that can't be talked out and solved.
So focus on solutions instead of problems. It's often the key to resolving conflicts and moving forward positively.
What Else I Do to Be Happy
I think there is no such thing as permanent happiness, but there is one thing that can be permanent if you have good mental health: peace of mind.
Peace and happiness go together. I've experienced that when you're peaceful, you're happy because your inner peace reflects as happiness on your face.
So try to be peaceful and don't chase after what we call permanent happiness, because that's only possible when you have the right people around you—those who care for you and accept your decisions. This isn't one-sided; it applies equally to both ends.
Here we go with some basics that can make you happier:
- Nurture relationships.
- Pursue passions.
- Practice gratitude.
- Exercise.
- Seek growth.
- Embrace self-care routines.
- Help others, whenever you can but not at the cost of your happiness.
All of these things must be done routinely. What often happens is that when we fail or experience something bad, we take the situation too seriously and stop moving forward. This is kind of stupid because everything else is not stopping, so why are you stopping yourself?
Yep, you need to consider that if you're feeling sad, you may have stopped doing the activities you used to enjoy.
So, take a step forward and start moving again. I'll revisit and update this article multiple times, as it's hard to capture all my thoughts at once.
